Who will be the next Miss Thurston County?
We are excited that you would like to become Miss Thurston County 2023 and her Outstanding Teen! As an official preliminary to Miss America and Miss America's Outstanding Teen, the Miss Thurston County Scholarship Program allows young women in our community opportunities to succeed through education and public service.
Candidate Information for 2023
The Miss Thurston County Scholarship Program is open to young women of Thurston County who are interested in serving in a leadership role that fosters community service.
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Miss Candidates:

Be female between the ages of 18 and 26, and
-
Be a resident of Thurston County for at least 6 months, or
-
Be a student in Thurston County or work in Thurston County*
Teen Candidates:

Be female between the ages of 13 and 18 (cannot turn 19 in 2023) and
-
Be a resident of Thurston County for at least 6 months, or
-
Be a student in Thurston County or work in Thurston County*
*The program will consider young women who reside or attend school in an area adjacent to Thurston County (such as Mason County), that does not have a Miss America preliminary competition. Priority will be given to young women who live, work or go to school in Thurston County.

Entrant must be single, never have been married nor had a marriage annulled. She must not be a parent.

Entrant must be in good health.

Entrant must be a United States citizen.
The candidate selected for the responsibility of serving as Miss Thurston County and her Outstanding Teen must be available to serve as the official hostesses of Thurston County from January 2023 thru January 2024.
She will also compete in the Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen Competition and Miss Washington Scholarship Competition in June/July 2023 (dates TBA). As the Miss Thurston County Scholarship Program supports education, every effort will be made to accommodate her school schedule.
The Miss Thurston County Scholarship Program will hold an orientation on Sunday, October 9, 2022 to answer any questions you may have, and cover the details of what is expected from each contestant, from Miss Thurston County, and what you can expect from us! Beginning October 2022 we will hold a weekly workshop on Sunday afternoons until the competition. Location of these workshops is Inspire 2 Move Dance Academy. These workshops are MANDATORY – and they are for your benefit! Workshops are for practicing stage presence, walking patterns, interview practice, and talent rehearsals. We also host a number of speakers for topics like social media, community service platforms, a women’s self-defense class, fitness and nutrition, and more!
